Introducing the PACStacks Medical Archive, a DICOM compliant, economical grid-based archive appliance that simplifies storing, protecting, and retrieving patient studies. Available in multiple price/performance configurations, the highly scalable PACStacks Medical Archive appliances can be used as a multi-modality storage archive, a PACS storage repository, or can be combined with the PACStacks Disc Burner and DICOM Router to create a fully HIPAA-compliant PACS system.
Field proven since 1999, SENCOR’s (intelligent Content Addressable Storage) iCAS software is the foundation of SENCOR’s PACStacks Archive appliances. The SENCOR iCAS is a DICOM compliant, modular, grid storage architecture.Simply select the size, feature and function of the solution required to meet their current image storage or distribution needs, while ensuring the long term flexibility to scale in size and/or features in the future. iCAS is the choice of a number of leading software vendors, who rely on it to power their healthcare solutions.
The PACStacks Archive is a cost-effective solution for single or multi-modality imaging facilities. Connected modalities can send images to the PACStacks Archive where the images are stored safely and securely. To meet the HIPAA requirement that two separate copies of patient images must be retained, the PACStacks Archive has a simple option for creating multiple additional separate copies of each image, which can be stored either locally in the archive or routed and stored in a remote storage device. Archive rules-based management is extremely simple, providing complete control through the appliance’s web-based interface.

Highly Scalable, Grid-based Storage Architecture
The PACStacks grid-based architecture provides the flexibility to buy what is needed today and scale over time as requirements change. Start with 1TB of storage and grow to Petabytes in a single grid by simply installing expansion boxes and/or server nodes. Archives can be configured to allow data to be distributed from one medical archive node to another. Data can then be queried and retrieved from either of these medical archives.
Minimal Operational Overhead with Automated Rules-based Architecture
The automated, rules-based architecture and web-based management simplify configuration and monitoring. The intelligent policy engine minimizes any operator intervention while maximizing performance and efficiency. Hardware upgrades are seamless, without provision¬ing or service interruption.

Persistent Store and Forward Technology
SENCOR appliances work within any standard DICOM environment, allowing hospitals and clinics to easily route DICOM study data. PACStacks DICOM Router appliances use a persistent store-and-forward technology that continually tries to send data until it is successful, even if the equipment reboots. The ability to make multiple re-tries ensures the safe delivery of data independent of the quality of the communications link.
Choose from a variety of compression levels for the most efficient routing of data across networks with different speeds. This technology also provides buffering capability for consistent data routing at any network speed. DICOM Compliant SENCOR ensures compatibility with the widest range of DICOM modalities as well as PACS viewing workstations and film digitizing libraries from a variety of different vendors. Rules based automatic routing studies can be scheduled for delivery based on date, time, location, or any DICOM tag. This routing flexibility allows this software to accomplish the most powerful set of routing strategies and policies available in one single solution.
